What’s RIASEC?

It’s one of the most popular and widely used surveys to help people discover the careers that are most likely to satisfy them. Through Beable, your kids will learn their three-letter RIASEC code. You’ll learn if your child is a Realistic hands-on doer, an Investigative thinker, an Artistic creator, a Social helper, an Enterprising persuader, or a Conventional organizer. Once your child has their three-letter code, they can explore careers that connect to their RIASEC codes. Beable focuses on RIASEC interests, because interests are the greatest predictor of job satisfaction and success.

What’s Lexile?

It’s the measure of your child’s reading level—and the most-used literacy measure in the world. The higher a Lexile level, the stronger one’s reading ability. Every job requires a particular reading level. Now, through Beable, your child can zero in on careers of interest and develop the reading skills required by those careers. Plus, as a parent, you get valuable information about your child’s reading abilities—whether they are reading below, at, or above grade level– which is vital to helping them on the path to success. This is especially important now, as many kids are still catching up on their reading skills due to the learning loss caused by the pandemic.

Personalized Paths to Employment

Beable starts by gathering information from your child to help them understand their strengths, interests, goals, and current reading level. Beable’s advanced technology then turns this information into a personal path to success. By using Beable in school, but also after school and on weekends, each student will:

Explore jobs based on their personal and career interests and see the Lexile reading level required by those jobs.
Receive the just-right number of reading lessons to reach the reading level for the jobs they’re most interested in.
Receive all lessons and content at their current reading level and in their language.
Get special support with each lesson if they need it, such as help understanding the content or help with vocabulary.
Get additional, high-interest readings based on topics they select for even more reading time.
Engage in combined online and teacher-led learning experiences using the language of RIASEC to instill a growth mindset.
